New Delhi: In a fiery and articulate speech during the Parliament debate on Operation Sindoor, BJP MP and senior leader Baijayant Jay Panda tore into the Opposition for what he described as “selective outrage, historical amnesia, and misplaced priorities” in matters of national security.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Panda robustly defended the government’s counter-terror operation and exposed what he called the hypocrisy and silence of the Opposition on Pakistan’s denials and China’s aggression. He applauded the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, crediting them for India’s rising global stature.
“Pakistan Claims There Are No Terror Camps. No Opposition Leader Objected.”
Panda began by calling out Pakistan’s “absurd” claim that no terrorist camps exist on its soil.
“It is astonishing that while Pakistan peddles blatant lies on international platforms, not a single Opposition leader in this House has stood up to challenge them,” he said.
He described this silence as deeply problematic, adding that such negligence undermines the morale of India’s armed forces and intelligence agencies.
Response to Mr. Gaurav Gogoi: “Congress Has a Legacy of Surrender”
Responding directly to remarks made by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, who questioned the government’s intent on reclaiming Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and accused it of having “bowed down,” Panda fired a pointed rebuttal.
“Before throwing around words like ‘surrender’, let us not forget who gave away Shaksgam Valley, or who did nothing after 26/11. The record of Congress’s repeated surrenders is long and shameful,” he said.
Sharp Rebuttal on China: “Reveal Your MoU First”
When confronted with questions about China’s actions, Panda issued a cutting response that turned the spotlight back on the Congress party.
“First reveal your MoU with the Chinese Communist Party, then talk.”
He accused the Opposition of selective outrage, highlighting how they never confront China or Pakistan in international forums but are quick to criticize India’s government and its armed forces.
Panda alleged that this double standard reflects a deep-rooted hypocrisy and framed the Congress’s stance as one that appears anti-national in spirit.
“Your loyalty must be to the nation first — not to an old foreign handshake,” he said.
Opposition Ignoring India’s Military Progress
Panda also criticized the Opposition for constantly raising the issue of Chinese drones, while failing to acknowledge India’s growing success in developing and deploying indigenous defence systems.
“While our scientists and soldiers work day and night, the Opposition chooses silence. That silence speaks volumes,” he said.
Indian Claims Backed by Satellite Imagery
Defending the credibility of India’s statements post-Operation Sindoor, Panda stated that unlike Pakistan’s “WhatsApp propaganda,” India has presented satellite-backed evidence of terror camps and infiltration attempts.
“India’s case rests on facts and global intelligence inputs — not fiction,” he asserted.
India Receives Unprecedented Global Support
He informed the House that 61 countries, including leaders of BRICS, QUAD, and FATF member states, had sent messages of solidarity to India following Operation Sindoor.
“The world is with India. It’s only a few sitting in these benches who aren’t,” he said, gesturing to the Opposition.
TRF Exposed as Lashkar Proxy
Panda called out The Resistance Front (TRF) as a thinly veiled offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba, now officially designated as a terrorist organization by the United States.
“Let us stop pretending they are ‘freedom fighters’ — they are global terrorists with new names,” he said.
“Operation Sindoor Was a Response with Pain and a Message”
Speaking with emotion, Panda said the operation was not just a military response, but also a national message.
“Operation Sindoor ek jawaab tha — jisme dard bhi tha, aur sandesh bhi,” he declared.
Global Honours to PM Reflect India’s Respect
Referring to multiple international civilian awards received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently, Panda said:
“These are not personal accolades. They reflect how the world sees India today — strong, respected, and sovereign.”
Final Message: “We Are People of Peace, Not Prisoners of It”
Concluding his speech with a powerful reminder, Panda said:
“Yes, we are people of peace — but we are not prisoners of it. We will act when we must.”
Baijayant Jay Panda’s speech stood out as one of the most hard-hitting defences of Operation Sindoor, highlighting India’s diplomatic and military strength while exposing what he termed as the Opposition’s lack of credibility on national security issues. His sharp remarks, especially on China and internal political contradictions, added momentum to the government’s assertive posture in Parliament.
