Day 3: After Police FIR, Vulgarity-Accused Allahbadia Loses 1.8 Lakh Subscribers on YouTube

NEW DELHI: Digital content creator and podcast host Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as ‘BeerBiceps,’ is facing a major backlash after an FIR was filed against him for making inappropriate remarks during an appearance on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show India’s Got Latent.

 

Following the controversy, Allahbadia is continuing the losing lakhs of followers across his social media platforms.

 

According to social media analytics website Social Blade, his YouTube channel, “Ranveer Allahbadia,” saw a drop of 100k subscribers.

On February 11, he had 10.5 million subscribers, but by February 12, it decreased to 10.4 million.

Similarly, his “BeerBiceps” YouTube channel lost at least 80,000 subscribers.

The channel had 8.31 million subscribers on February 9, which fell to 8.23 million by February 12.

Reports suggest that Allahbadia may have lost nearly 2 million subscribers across all his channels, however, The New Indian could not independently verify this claim.

Allahbadia’s personal Instagram account also witnessed a drop in followers.

On February 9, he had 3,439,651 followers, but by February 12, that number dropped to 3,403,871, a loss of nearly 36,000 followers.

His BeerBiceps Instagram profile saw a similar decline, going from 4,526,528 followers to 4,484,078, a drop of over 42,000 followers by February 11.

There were no major changes in the statistics on February 12.

The controversy began after a viral clip from India’s Got Latent showed Allahbadia asking a highly inappropriate question to a contestant: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”

 

This remark sparked widespread outrage, with netizens calling for a boycott of Allahbadia’s content and urging others to unfollow him.

 

Two days ago, on Monday Allahbadia posted an apology clip on Instagram.

However, the comments on his post made it clear that many users and fans rejected his apology. Some of the comments included:

As the controversy continues to escalate, several celebrities have shared their views.

Lyricist and poet Manoj Muntashir expressed his concerns about vulgarity becoming a tradition if left unchallenged.

He warned that such content could harm future generations, especially in a country where parents are revered like gods.

In a video statement, singer Mika also criticized the level of profanity and inappropriate language in the episode.

He pointed out that while the audience might enjoy it, such content could negatively affect unintended viewers.

Mika questioned why reputed judges and singers would associate themselves with such shows, emphasizing the need for some form of regulation in content.
