Air Force Association pays tribute to martyrs on 43rd Annual Day

On the eve of the Air Force Association’s 43rd Annual Day on Wednesday, President of the welfare body retired Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria commemorated the many martyrs who had laid down their lives for the country.

The retired Air Chief Marshal laid a wreath at the National War Memorial, near India Gate, on behalf of all Indian Air Force veterans to honour the martyrs. Following which, the Annual General Meeting of the association was held at the Air Force Auditorium in Subroto Park, Delhi.

The meeting was being attended by several presently serving officers alongside numerous retired Chiefs of the Air Staff.

During the meeting, the chief guest of the AGM, Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari also facilitated three air veterans who had “dedicated” themselves to the cause of the AFA, while also facilitating those who had made noteworthy contributions to the association for its development.

The CAS also addressed the veterans present inside the auditorium, briefing them about the IAF’s achievement in the past year while also apprising them of the air force’s grand plans in the years to come. The CAS also depicted his gratefulness for the service of the veterans which was marked with bravery, hard work and their sacrifice, “which has resulted in the IAF’s growing stature”, strength by strength over the years.

The AFA is an NGO that is actively involved in the welfare of Air Force veterans and their families, with 92,141 veterans as its members alongside 6,190 spousal members spread across 20 branches in different corners of the country.
