New Delhi: Delhi’s senior minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has assured South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar that work on the proposed world-class Skill University in Jaunapur will commence soon.
The minister also promised appropriate action to free up land notified by the Forest Department.
During a meeting at the minister’s office, which was also attended by officials, Bidhuri highlighted that the Skill University project has been pending for over a decade despite land allocation and budget approval. He alleged that the delay was due to negligence by the Kejriwal government.
Another major issue discussed was the Forest Department’s notification covering Sanjay Colony and other settlements, including villages that existed before 1991. Bidhuri argued that inhabited areas cannot be notified under forest laws. He also pointed out that land distributed to landless beneficiaries under the government’s 20-point programme was wrongly included in the notification.
Bidhuri and Tanwar requested a review of the notified land, following which Minister Sirsa directed officials to examine the matter and take necessary action. The meeting aimed to resolve long-pending development and land regularization issues in the region.
