What’s brewing? Hemant Soren meets Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren

Amid the churning in the Indian political field, Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal met with his counterpart from Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, to discuss “various issues of the country”.

The meeting assumes significance amid the country’s emerging political scenario ahead of the 2024 general election, as the opposition is trying to cobble together a front to stop the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from recording a hattrick of wins.

Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) have been at the forefront of attacking the BJP-led central government on various issues.

In a tweet, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader said he had a courtesy meeting with Soren.

“Had a courtesy meeting with Jharkhand CM Shri @HemantSorenJMM ji in Delhi today. There was a meaningful conversation on various issues of the country,” Kejriwal said.

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren reciprocated with a tweet saying that the two leaders met, and discussed various issues of development.

“Had a courtesy meeting with Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi Shri @ArvindKejriwal in New Delhi today. During the meeting we discussed various issues of development related to Jharkhand and Delhi,” said Soren.

On Monday, CM Soren met with Union Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Giriraj Singh. They discussed several issues related to housing development in rural areas, the 15th Finance Commission and MNREGA in the state of Jharkhand.

CM Soren attended the wedding function of the son of BJP national president JP Nadda. He also met several top political leaders at the event.
