WATCH | Muslims Demand Deputy CM, 5 Ministers In Congress’ Karnataka Govt

Muslim leaders from the Sunni Ulma Board have voiced their demand for the allocation of the deputy chief minister’s post to a winning candidate from their community in Karnataka. They are also calling for the appointment of five Muslim MLAs as ministers, holding portfolios such as Home, Revenue, Health, and other important departments.

Expressing their community’s contribution to the Congress party’s success, they highlight that the Muslims played a decisive role in securing victories in approximately 72 constituencies. They emphasize that it is time for the Congress to reciprocate their support and provide them with deserving representation. A meeting was held at the Sunni Ulma Board office, where these demands were discussed, aiming to ensure their implementation.

According to Waqf Board chairman Shafi Sadi, the specific individuals chosen for these positions are not as important as the Congress assessing their performance and selecting candidates based on merit. He acknowledges the dedication of Muslim candidates who campaigned beyond their own constituencies, fostering Hindu-Muslim unity and contributing to the party’s overall victory. Sadi believes that the responsibility lies with the Congress to appoint an ideal Deputy CM from the Muslim community as a gesture of gratitude.
