NOIDA: Hours after razing illegal construction at abuser Shrikant Tyagi’s residence, Noida police on Monday announced a cash prize of ₹25,000 for his arrest.

For the past three days, Tyagi has been on the run after a video of him abusing a woman member of the Grand Omaxe Society went viral.

Alok Singh, the Commissioner of Police, who visited the woman on Sunday with other top officers, promised Tyagi would be arrested soon. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Mahesh Sharma had assured the victim’s family that he would be arrested soon.

Tyagi was accused of abusing and molesting a woman over an issue of encroachment in his society at Sector 93 in Noida. The police have registered two separate FIRs against him.

Police had said eight teams were working to nab Tyagi, whose suspected location was traced to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand.

On Saturday, his Baleno car, in which he was suspected to have fled, was traced at Hapur Toll Plaza. Sources said he was suspected to have taken the village routes so that his car could not be traced through toll plazas.

The poster with a cash reward of ₹25,000 was announced by the UP police on Monday morning. The move came after a portion of his house was demolished by the Noida civil authorities.
