Saumraj’s Epic Banter Sets the Stage
Even in victory, Saumraj kept the competitive spirit alive with a playful dig at rival Jonathan. In a moment that sent shockwaves across the BGMI community, he said:
“My dear self-proclaimed Jonathan, I’m still waiting for your comeback. MVP se kingdom setup nahi hota hai, ye trophy ghar aani chahiye, tabhi kingdom ka sthapna hota hai… I will wait for your comeback.”

(English Translation: “My dear self-proclaimed Jonathan, I’m still waiting for your comeback. You don’t build a kingdom by just becoming MVP. The trophy must come home; only then is a kingdom truly established. I will wait for your comeback.”)
The banter added an extra layer of drama to the tournament’s end, reigniting one of the most talked-about rivalries in Indian esports.
BGIS 2025: A New Benchmark for Indian Esports
The BGIS 2025 Finals shattered previous records with a ₹3.2 crore prize pool. Champions Team Versatile took home ₹69.6 lakh, while other top teams were generously rewarded, making it one of the most lucrative seasons in BGMI history.
The tournament was broadcast in 10 languages, with Realme joining as the title sponsor, and in-game BGIS Crate sales allowing fans to directly contribute to the prize pool — a first for the Indian esports scene.
“This is not just a win for Team Versatile — it’s a win for all underdog teams out there,” Saumraj concluded, inspiring countless upcoming players across the country.
