Himanta Biswa Sarma is the 15th Chief Minister of Assam. On 10 May 2021, Sarma was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam, succeeding his colleague Sarbananda Sonowal. His X followers have grown 120% since he assumed the CM office demonstrating the popularity he has enjoyed both online and offline.

Youth20 inception meet 2023 kicks off in Assam

The first Youth20 (Y20) Inception Meeting 2023 under the G20 began in Guwahati on February 6. This is the first meeting of the 17 meetings that will be held all across the country, culminating in the Youth20 Summit in August. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sharma will present research papers from students and academicians in Assam. In addition to this, technical sessions and deliberations will be hosted at IIT Guwahati. Prominent speakers include Gen. VK Singh, Assam DGP GP Singh, MP Tejasvi Surya etc. An ice-breaking session was held with Y20 delegates at Brahmaputra Sandbar Island.
