NEW DELHI: Another sensational controversy has erupted in Punjab Police involving a purported audio clip between an IPS officer and a woman as the two negotiate on a financial transaction for performing a four-hour-long sexual act between them.

The risque audio got leaked ahead of Ludhiana by-polls as the officer demands the sexual act but seeks to defer due to by-election.

The New Indian is unsure of the identity of the officer and is refraining from commenting on ascertaining the identity till Punjab Police or a government official makes a public statement on this even as the audio clip has gone viral among bureaucracy in India, DoPT (Department of personnel and training) and the Ministry of home affairs (MHA).
However, The New Indian has also learnt that the conversation has been made available to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, DGP Gaurav Yadav, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and also AAP leader Manish Sisodia besides Punjab education minister Harjot Bains through several officers.
In the alleged conversation, that has also been uploaded by a Canada-based Youtuber Harpreet Singh, the IPS officer is heard offering some money to the woman while demanding a sensational paid sexual act from her along with another lady.

โPehle bata doonga, jab bhi hoga,โ says, allegedly, a Punjab Police IPS officer in Hindi.
โNahi jab bhi hoga nahi, woh toh do din ke liye aayee hai, mujhe lagaโฆ.โ the woman counters his proposal promptly.
The officer then makes a brief submission with some trepidation and inquisitiveness,โAbhi election chal raha hai yahan par, rehne do rehne do..Which place does she (the woman) belong to?โ
When the woman replies, โMorinda (a place from Ropar), the officer interjects and starts making a proposal โHow much you want for three for hours, how much you want for yourself and how much you want for her?โ
He continues, โ20 for you and 10 for herโ.
As the woman, annoyed by his proposal, rejects the offer, the cop retorts, making a counter-offer, โChalo 12 kar dengeโ.
At this stage, the woman, further agitated, begins to lose her temper, and rebukes the Punjab Police IPS officer with an insult โChindi chori na karoโฆNa Naโฆ.50 total de dena,โ.
The officer remains adamant โ Nahi nahi, 50 leke tum bologi, professional bhi nahi, yeh bhi nahi, woh bhi nahi,โ
โI want a proper three-some,โ the officer states, ending the conversation abruptly, with more explicit vulgarity in his husky voice and heavily demanding tone.
In India, flesh trade is an cognizable offence under BNS (formerly IPC) section 370 A that seeks rigorous imprisonment upto 3 years, extendable up to 5 years, for the person who engages a trafficked person for sexual exploitation alone.
The New Indian has sent a set of questions to Punjab Police officials regarding this conversation while also trying to ascertain if the officer is talking about upcoming by-poll in Ludhiana West.
โThe probe may begin independently as more verifiable evidence emerges. It may lead to forensic examination of audio samples. But we can say itโs high embarassing for us,โ said a senior AAP member, expressing shame while also maintaining that such incidents were largely heard during Akali Dal and Congress regimes earlier only.
Ludhiana West is witnessing a by-poll following the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Singh Gogi. The by-poll is scheduled likely for May this year. Congress may announce tainted leader Bharat Bhushan Ashu for this poll even as AAP is rallying behind its Rajya Sabha candidate Sanjeev Arora.
The by-poll has become a do-or-die for for the embattled AAP, which witnessed a hich-octane election in Delhi that ended the 12-year rule in the national capital, as Aroraโs win may pave way for Kejriwal as a Rajya Sabha probable.

More than Punjab government, the audio has caused huge embarasment for Punjab Police that is faced with several recent back to back controversies including Patiala assault on an Army officer in full public glare and the arrest of a woman police constable, in possession of a 17.7g heroin, leading to sensational charges on an IPS officer.
The constable Amandeep Kaur has allegedly threatened to disclose the name of IPS while it is learnt that Bathinda Police has collected the evidence from her mobile phone and shared it in confidentiality with Punjab DGP already.
