Salaar Ceasefire OTT release: When, where to watch Prabhas’ action drama

NEW DELHI: The highly anticipated OTT release of ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,’ the action-drama directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is set to delight audiences in four languages.

Following its theatrical debut in December 2023, the film is poised to make its digital premiere on Netflix. Netflix India confirmed this exciting development through an official tweet, revealing that the movie will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on their platform. However, the OTT release date is yet to be officially disclosed.

While the release date for the Hindi version on Netflix remains undisclosed, reports suggest a possible Republic Day release, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film. The streaming giant had secured the OTT rights for ‘Salaar’ at an astounding Rs 160 crore, marking a significant investment in the project. Initial reports had hinted at Netflix also acquiring the rights for the Hindi version, but the delay in its release on the platform raises questions.

It’s unclear whether the decision to postpone the Hindi version’s release on Netflix is linked to Bollywood exhibitors’ criteria of adhering to a two-month window before digital release or if the Hindi rights were sold to another OTT platform. The mystery surrounding the Hindi version’s OTT release adds an intriguing layer to the film’s digital journey.

‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ has generated immense buzz, not only for its stellar cast and direction but also for the record-breaking OTT rights acquisition by Netflix. As fans eagerly await the official announcement of the OTT release date, speculations continue to circulate, heightening the excitement for what promises to be a cinematic spectacle.
