Rajput Karni Sena president shot dead 48 hours after Rajasthan election results

Karni Sena chief murdered in broad daylight

JAIPUR: The President of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, was fatally shot at his Jaipur residence on Tuesday, just 48 hours following the announcement of the results of the Rajasthan Assembly elections.

According to CCTV footage, two assailants barged into the residence and proceeded to unleash a barrage of bullets on Gogamedi. The unidentified assailants were already seated at his residence when they whipped out their guns to murder Gogamedi in cold blood.

Afterwards, they were seen making a hasty departure, despite being obstructed by another unidentified person, who had entered the scene. Nevertheless, their attempts were futile, as the two attackers proceeded to shoot at them.

According to witnesses, the Karni Sena president’s bodyguards were able to shoot down one of the assailants, while the other two, who had entered the residence to shoot the president down, were able to flee.

Gogamedi was declared dead upon arrival at the Metro Mas hospital in the capital city. After his death, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, took to microblogging site X, and asked the people of Rajasthan to maintain peace and stability in the region, and not get carried away.

“In this regard, information has been taken from the Police Commissioner and he has asked for the arrest of the accused as soon as possible. Social people will have to maintain peace and patience. Making the state crime free is one of our top priorities as soon as the BJP government takes oath. May God grant peace to Gogamedi ji’s soul. May family members and supporters and well wishers get strength,” he tweeted.
