NEW DELHI: Russian President Vladimir Putin will not participate in the upcoming G20 Summit scheduled for September 9 and 10 in New Delhi.
Moreover, it is not clear if he will join leaders of China, the US, the UK, France, Germany and other G20 nations virtually.
Putin is not planning a trip to the G20 summit in India, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

“The main emphasis now is a special military operation,” he emphasized.
This announcement follows his absence from the recent BRICS Summit held in South Africa’s Johannesburg and other international events that have taken place since the outset of the Ukraine crisis in February 2022.
Instead, his Man Friday, foreign minister Sergey Lavrov represents Russia at such international events.

The announcement also casts a shadow on Putin’s anticipated visit to Turkey, where he was invited by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
US President Joe Biden and Australian PM Anthony Albanese have confirmed their presence in New Delhi during September 7-10.
