PM Modi Invites Ex-Japanese PM Suga, Ganesha Group Of MPs To India

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan.

Suga, who was Japan’s PM from September 2020 to September 2021, is part of a group of 15 Liberal Democratic Party lawmakers called the ‘Ganesha’ group. PM Modi appreciated him for being a member of this group.

PM Modi also invited Suga and the other Ganesh group of MPs to visit India during Ganeshotsav this year.

Ganesha or Kangiten in Japanese is the symbol of good fortune in business and also a solver of problems.

India and Japan have several cultural ties including immense similarities in practising religion. There’s a tremendous impact of Hinduism on certain sects of Buddhism in Japan.
