PM Modi hands over 51,000 job letters ahead of crucial polls

NEW DELHI: Ahead of Assembly elections in five states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday virtually distributed appointment letters to  more than 51,000 youths selected for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

The job letters were distributed as part of the 8th edition of the ‘Rozgar Mela’ – an initiative of the Union home ministry – conducted concurrently across 45 locations throughout the nation.

These youths will serve in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the Delhi Police.

While addressing the fresh recruits, the PM highlighted, “In previous years, we provided an opportunity for numerous tribal youth from Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected region to join the security forces. By facilitating recruitment procedures, our intention was to integrate them into the mainstream of development.”

These newly appointed people, chosen from diverse corners of the country, will assume roles as constables (general duty), sub-inspectors (GD), and non-GD cadre posts.

Acknowledging their selection during the “Amrit Kaal,” the prime minister termed them ‘Amrit Rakshak’ (Guardians of Nectar), lauding not just their dedication to serving the nation but also their role in safeguarding it along with its citizens.

“Youth like you play a pivotal role in steering the progress and advancement of our nation,” PM Modi added.

The recruitment process has undergone streamlining, incorporating changes such as conducting examinations in 13 local languages, expediting the selection process, and introducing relaxed criteria for enlisting tribal youth from Naxal-affected regions.

Furthermore, he acknowledged the recent historic achievement of Chandrayaan 3, emphasizing that the present times are characterized by an atmosphere of immense national joy and pride.

Beyond marking a significant milestone for the freshly recruited individuals, the ceremony underscored the symbiotic relationship existing among national security, the rule of law, economic growth, and employment opportunities.
