New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera on Saturday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for campaigning in Bihar while praising Rahul Gandhi for visiting Kashmir and meeting the families of victims affected by the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Khera drew comparisons between the actions of different leaders and parties following the attack:
โ Rahul Gandhi went to Kashmir to meet the injured.
โ PM Modi went to Bihar for election campaigning.
โ Congress stated that it stands with the government during this crisis.
He further criticized the BJP, alleging:
โ BJP made a cartoon mocking a deceased victim and his widow.
โ Congress, on the other hand, demanded an all-party meeting.
Khera accused the central government of misleading the public, stating:
โ BJP lied about holding an all-party meeting.
โ Congress urged the government to give a stern response to Pakistan.
He also claimed that the BJP blamed โlack of patriotism among Indiansโ for the attack.
Khera asserted that Pakistan aimed to disrupt the livelihoods of Kashmiris and sow discord between Hindus and Muslims in India. He alleged that soon after the attack, RSS-affiliated groups โdid exactly what Pakistan wantedโโthreatening Kashmiri students across the country and spreading hate against Indian Muslims.
The BJP has not yet responded to his allegations.
