New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has officially taken over the probe into the horrific Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent tourists on Tuesday. The move comes following directives from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), as authorities intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators behind one of the deadliest attacks in Kashmir in recent years.

Since Wednesday, NIA teams have been stationed at the attack site in the scenic Baisaran valley, meticulously collecting evidence and reconstructing the sequence of events. Senior officials, including an Inspector General (IG), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and Superintendent of Police (SP), are overseeing the investigation.

Eyewitnesses who saw the attackers open fire on tourists are being questioned in detail to establish the terroristsโ€™ movements and motives. Forensic experts are assisting in combing the area for crucial evidence, while security forces have tightened surveillance at entry and exit points to trace the assailantsโ€™ escape routes.

The attack has sent shockwaves across the nation, with the central government vowing swift action. The NIAโ€™s involvement signals a high-priority probe to uncover the terror conspiracy behind the massacre. Further updates are awaited as the investigation progresses.
