MCD Polls: Today AAP has defeated world’s largest party BJP, says Raghav Chadha

As the Aam Aadmi Party puts an end to BJP’s 15-year rule in Delhi Municipal Corporation,  Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha expressed his pride at the fact that the party that defeated the world’s largest political party in the civic polls.

“Aam Aadmi Party has defeated the world’s largest party in the battlefield of Delhi.Earlier, tThe citizens of Delhi entrusted Arvind Kejriwal for running the Delhi government. And now, the people have reposed faith in him to administer the Delhi Municipal”, said elated Raghav Chadha on Wednesday.

He also said people have punished BJP for engaging in vendetta politics. Raghav said, “People of Delhi have given a befitting reply to BJP as they made attempts to corner the Aam Aadmi Party and malign the image of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal”.

Raghav Chadha is a National Executive Member of the Aam Aadmi Party. In February 2020, he contested from Rajendra Nagar in Delhi Legislative Assembly election and won against BJP’s candidate RP Singh. Following the elections, he was appointed vice-chairman of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and assigned the water portfolio in the Delhi Government.

On 21 March 2022, Delhi MLA Raghav Chadha was nominated by AAP for the post of Rajya Sabha from Punjab for a six-year term starting 2022.

He added, “Citizens of Delhi vote for a party which delivers work, not for a party busy maligning others. BJP deployed 7 Chief Ministers, 17 Union Ministers, even ED and CBI for the municipal elections but despite that, the people of Delhi chose the Aam Aadmi party”.

He also said that the Aam Aadmi Party has repeated the success of Delhi Assembly polls. Raghav said, “Congress ran the Delhi government for 15 years. But we defeated them. Today, Aam Aadmi Party has repeated the feat by ending BJP’s 15 year rule in Delhi Municipal Corporation”

As the final results came in, AAP dislodged the BJP from Delhi Municipal Corporation. Aam Aadmi Party won 134 seats while BJP won 104 in the high-stakes Delhi municipal elections, as per the EC data.
