New Delhi: A massive protest led by Kashmiri Pandits and supported by Delhi citizens erupted at Jantar Mantar today, condemning the brutal killing of 26 Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. The demonstrators raised slogans of โStop Hindu Genocideโ and accused Pakistan-backed terrorists of orchestrating systematic violence against Hindus across India.
The protesters demanded immediate action from the Indian government, including cutting all ties with Pakistan and recognizing the historical persecution of Kashmiri Pandits. Prominent community leaders, including Vithal Chowdhary (Youth 4 Panun Kashmir), Amit Raina (Roots in Kashmir), Sumeer Chrungoo (Kashmiri Samiti Delhi), and Kamal Hak (Panun Kashmir), addressed the gathering, calling the Pahalgam attack part of a larger โGhazwa-e-Hindustanโ (Islamic war against India).
Key Demands of Protesters:
1. Arrest of Aga Rahullah & Wahid Para for allegedly making inflammatory anti-Hindu statements.
2. Declare Pakistan a terrorist state, sever all diplomatic and trade relations, and shut down the Pakistan High Commission in India.
3. Recognize the Kashmiri Pandit genocide officially.
4. Relocate PM Package employees serving in Kashmir to safer regions.
โThis is not just about touristsโitโs an attack on Indiaโs sovereignty,โ said Sumeer Chrungoo, President of Kashmiri Samiti Delhi. โIf we donโt act now, there may be no India left to defend.โ
The protesters also slammed left-liberal intellectuals and media for allegedly downplaying jihadist violence, calling it โmoral cowardice and a betrayal of the nation.โ
The demonstration highlighted growing anger over rising Islamist terrorism and the governmentโs perceived inaction. With chants of โBharat Mata Ki Jaiโ and โPakistan Murdabad,โ the protesters vowed to escalate their movement until their demands are met.
Government Response Awaited:
As tensions rise, all eyes are now on the Centreโs next steps. Will India formally designate Pakistan a terror state? Will justice finally come for Kashmiri Pandits? The nation waits for answers.
