ISIS Module Case: NIA Arrests One Suspect 

NEW DELHI: Ahead of Independence Day celebrations, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested one suspect, Mohsin Ahmad, in connection with the ISIS module case.

An NIA source told The New Indian that the anti-terror probe agency on Saturday night carried out a search in the Batla House area in south Delhi.

After the search operation, NIA arrested Ahmad residing at F- 18/27, Japani Gali, Jogabai Extension, Batla House.

Ahmad was arrested for his involvement in the collection of funds for ISIS from sympathisers in India as well as abroad. He was sending these funds to Syria and other places in the form of cryptocurrency in order to further the activities of ISIS.

The source said that Ahmad is a permanent resident of Bihar and was associated with terror activities of the ISIS module.

The source also said that Ahmad is radicalised and an active member of the proscribed terrorist organisation ISIS.

The NIA registered a case on June 25 this year suo-moto under sections 153A, and 153B of IPC and sections 18, 18B, 38, 39 & 40 of UA (P) Act. The NIA was looking for Ahmad after registering the case.
