In a dastardly act of cowardice, unidentified hooligans attacked the house of Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan in Kerala capital Thiruvananthapuram.

Police officials said that window panes of the house were found to be broken and stones were found in the car parking area of the house.

Luckily, Union MoS Muraleedharan was not present at the house during the time of the attack. Muraleedharan is attending the Budget session of the parliament in New Delhi.

According to the reports, staff at the house noticed the damages at around 11 am on Thursday. The attack happened on the night of Wednesday.

It was learnt that it was the house help who found the window pane smashed and informed relatives and party workers about the incident.

Reports also said that police had sent blood stains, found on the scene, to the forensic laboratory. The police, however, claimed that neighbours di did not hear the sound of the attack.

It is learnt that a team, led by deputy commissioner of police Ajith Kumar, is probing the case. They are also looking at the CCTV footage to identify the accused.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded a thorough inquiry into the incident.

“The police are investigating the matter”, Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. “A special team has been formed to probe the incident of stone-pelting which resulted in the breaking of a window pane at MoS MEA V Muraleedharan’s house. We will find out what happened,” he said.
