IAS Husband In Jail, Wife Seeks Relief From U’khand HC

DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand High Court on Friday directed the state government to file a reply to the application filed by Kusum Yadav, wife of Indian Administrative Services officer Ram Vilas Yadav, seeking relief from arrest.

The court has asked the state government to file a reply within two weeks of time.

Kusum Yadav approached the HC after the state vigilance department had issued notice to her for questioning in the matter of disproportionate assets by her husband.

According to the state vigilance department, the officer amassed 522 per cent more wealth than his income.

According to documents and records available with the department, his total income is Rs 50,48,204 while his expenses stood at Rs 3,12,37,756.

Yadav, who served as an additional secretary, was suspended and arrested last month. He had approached the Uttarakhand High Court seeking relief from arrest but the court refused. He is in jail now.
