NEW DELHI: Hockey India Senior Women C’ship continued on Day 2 at the Tau Devi Lal Hockey Stadium in Panchkula. The tournament saw thrilling matches as Telangana Hockey and Delhi Hockey secured victories in Division B. In Division C, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey emerged victorious.

Telangana and Delhi Shine in Division B
Telangana Hockey started their campaign with a commanding 3-1 victory over Assam Hockey in Pool A. Assam’s Captain Munmuni Das (14’) opened the scoring with a well-taken field goal in the first quarter. However, Telangana responded strongly in the second quarter with three quick goals. Prativa Kindo (23’), Sumi Mundari (26’), and Pooja Rathod (28’) found the net, sealing an impressive win for their team.
Delhi Hockey continued their fine form in Pool B, securing a narrow 1-0 win over Hockey Himachal. Neha (14’) converted a penalty corner in the first quarter, which turned out to be the only goal of the match. Despite Hockey Himachal’s efforts to find an equalizer, Delhi’s defense stood firm, ensuring their second consecutive victory in the tournament.
The final Division B match of the day ended in a 1-1 draw between Chhattisgarh Hockey and Hockey Chandigarh. The game remained goalless for three quarters before Anjali (47’) broke the deadlock for Chhattisgarh. However, their lead was short-lived as Sonu (49’) scored an equalizer for Chandigarh just two minutes later.
Dominant Performance in Division C
In Division C, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey started their campaign with a solid 2-0 win over Hockey Gujarat in Pool A. They dominated possession and earned seven penalty corners. Their efforts paid off in the second quarter when Lekha Yadav (20’) and Satya Gupta (24’) scored back-to-back goals, securing a well-deserved victory.
Meanwhile, in a Division C match played on Saturday, Le Puducherry Hockey showcased an attacking masterclass with a 6-1 triumph over Hockey Jammu and Kashmir in Pool B. Jayapratha S (23’, 30’, 31’) scored a hat-trick, while S Subasri (45’, 56’) and Sowmya Vudumula (28’) added to the tally. Komal (7’) netted the only goal for Hockey Jammu and Kashmir.
Later today, Hockey India Senior Women C’ship will witness Hockey Andhra Pradesh take on Hockey Jammu and Kashmir at 6:15 PM IST.
This will be followed by Le Puducherry Hockey facing Hockey Arunachal at 8:00 PM IST.
