SRINAGAR: Late on the night of February 4, Pakistani military personnel, with the backing of terrorists, attempted to breach an Indian defence post in the Battal region. Vigilant Indian soldiers detected the intrusion and swiftly retaliated, resulting in five immediate enemy casualties.
An hour later, another hostile group was spotted while attempting to recover the fallen bodies. Once again, Indian troops launched a precise counterattack, ambushing them and escalating their losses.
So far, Pakistani forces, including special units and terrorists, have suffered 12 casualties, with at least seven confirmed fatalities. The entire zone on the Pakistani side of the Line of Control has been sealed off by their military, with a senior officer personally overseeing the situation.
Further details are awaited.
