NEW DELHI: The England Men’s Hockey Team landed in Bhubaneswar for the India leg of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2024-25. They will face Spain in their first match at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium on 18th February.
England is ranked No. 2 in the world. They have been in exceptional form throughout the tournament, demonstrating their dominance on the field. They have secured 11 points from four matches, recording three convincing victories and one hard-fought draw.
Their disciplined gameplay, tactical prowess, and attacking strength have allowed them to remain a top contender in the league. Their strong performance has placed them second in the overall standings, making them a formidable team in this competition.

Forward Sam Ward has been crucial for England. He has scored eight goals so far. His sharp finishing will be key in this leg of the tournament.
England Gears Up for Intense Matches

Captain Tim Nurse is thrilled to play in India for the first time. “My teammates have shared incredible experiences from the 2023 World Cup here. I’m eager to feel the same energy from the fans,” he said.

Interim Head Coach Zak Jones praised the environment in Bhubaneswar. “I love playing here. The atmosphere is amazing, and the hospitality is top-notch. We’ll have to adapt to the heat, but many of our players have played in the Hero Hockey India League,” he noted.
Jones expects a fierce contest against India. “We respect their skill level. Our matches in recent years have been thrilling. We look forward to executing our strategy and securing a win.”
