New Delhi: The Delhi Police’s Special Staff team from Dwarka district has arrested two men allegedly involved in smuggling illicit liquor from Haryana to Delhi. The accused, identified as Amit (24) and Sunny (23), both residents of Sonipat, Haryana, were caught with 28 cartons containing 1400 quarters of illegal liquor.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid near Radisson Blu Hotel in Dwarka and intercepted a Volkswagen Polo car allegedly used to transport the contraband. The vehicle was also seized during the operation.
Police officials stated that the accused were unemployed and had been supplying illegal liquor to Delhi for quick money. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of their network.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of senior officers following increased vigilance along interstate borders to curb the smuggling of illicit alcohol.
