NEW DELHI: In a move aimed at boosting the morale of India’s armed forces, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan visited the Suratgarh Military Station and Naliya Air Force Station—two strategically vital military installations—on May 19, 2025.
During his visit, General Chauhan interacted with personnel on ground and underscored the importance of operational readiness and resilience in the face of evolving national security threats.
He commended the high morale and preparedness of the troops, expressing confidence in their ability to counter future challenges effectively.
The CDS was accompanied by senior military leaders including Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of South Western Command, and Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of South Western Air Command.
A key highlight of the visit was the recognition of exemplary courage shown by armed forces personnel during Operation Sindoor. General Chauhan was briefed on the robust air defence systems deployed during the operation and held strategic discussions with senior commanders to review preparedness.
Lauding the exceptional valour and professionalism of the troops involved in the operation, General Chauhan praised their selfless dedication, courage, and commitment in neutralizing multiple threats posed by a western adversary. He emphasized the need for the armed forces to remain vigilant and ready to respond with decisive force at all times.
In his address, the CDS also acknowledged the strong inter-service cooperation, highlighting the synergy between the Indian Army and Air Force. He extended his appreciation to the local civil administration, stressing the vital role of civil-military coordination in ensuring national security during critical situations.
The visit served as a strong reaffirmation of the nation’s gratitude towards its armed forces and reinforced the message of unity, operational excellence, and unwavering national commitment.
