NEW DELHI: The Brampton Blitz were crowned inaugural champions of the Canada Super 60 at BC Place, Vancouver, after outclassing the Montreal Royal Tigers by eight wickets in a one-sided final.

The Blitz bowlers produced a masterclass in T10 bowling, dismantling the Tigers’ batting lineup for just 69 runs in eight oversDillon Heyliger (4/9)David Wiese (3/6), and Chris Greaves (3/16) shared all ten wickets in a clinical display. Only Shakib Al Hasan (29 off 12) and Dilpreet Bajwa (18 off 8) managed double figures for Montreal.

In reply, the Blitz made light work of the chase. Martin Guptill (23 off 13)* continued his fine form while James Vince (34 off 16) struck four fours and two sixes to put the result beyond doubt. Alex Davies finished the game in style with a six as Brampton sealed the title in just 5.5 overs.

Guptill and Smeed Power Blitz into Final with Nine-Wicket Rout of Mississauga Masters

Earlier in the day, the Blitz stormed into the final with a nine-wicket victory over the Mississauga Masters. Chasing 148, Martin Guptill (79 off 25) and Will Smeed (63 off 21) put on a breathtaking 141-run stand in only 6.5 overs. Guptill’s innings featured 11 sixes and two fours, while Smeed added eight sixes and a four in a blistering partnership that sealed the win in eight overs.

The Masters had earlier posted 147/5 thanks to Leus de Plooy (43 off 20)Sikandar Raza (29 off 13), and Shubham Ranjane (25 off 9). For Brampton, Piyush Chawla (3/23) stood out with the ball.

Montreal Royal Tigers Beat Vancouver Kings to Book Final Spot

In the first semi-final, the Montreal Royal Tigers overcame the Vancouver Kings by 24 runs to secure their place in the final. Nick Hobson (50 off 23) anchored the innings after early setbacks, lifting the Tigers to 100/6 in 10 overs. For Vancouver, Baltej Singh (3/21) was the standout bowler.

Defending the total, Shakib Al Hasan (2/5) and Ryan Higgins (2/16) stifled the Kings’ chase, despite resistance from Max Chu (25 off 10) and Obus Pienaar (20 off 11), as Vancouver were restricted to 76/7.
