Bharatiya Janata Party will introduce Uniform Civil Code in the state of Himachal if voted to power, announced National Party President JP Nadda on Sunday at its manifesto release. It also promised to conduct survey of Waqf properties in the state to check their illegal use.

A committee of experts will be formed for this purpose and then implementations made on its recommendation, Nadda said.
BJP National President JP Nadda on Sunday unveiled manifesto or Vijay Sankalp Patra –“BJP Sankalp Patra 2022” making an eleven-point commitment focusing on women empowerment, employment, development and implementation of Uniform Civil Code. The Manifesto was released by Nadda, Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur, Union Minister Anurag Thakur and other prominent leaders of the party.
JP Nadda remembering late Arun Jaitley and his lines for Himachal Pradesh started “Not only did BJP realize the goals it had committed to, but also achieved the ones it hadn’t promised. This ‘Sankalp Patra’ stands on 11 commitments. These commitments will bring uniformity in society, empower youth and farmers, strengthen horticulture, give justice to govt employees and take forward religious tourism.”
The BJP had formed a committee to take suggestions online and offline and after 25,000 suggestions from the general public this manifesto was made public.

11 commitments by BJP include following- –
- As part of the Himachal Startup scheme, BJP promised to arrange a fund of Rs 900 crore.
- BJP also promised to create 8 lakh job opportunities for youth.
- BJP said if its government returns to power in the state, Himachal would be getting five new medical colleges.
- Party also promised to double the number of mobile clinics in every assembly constituency so that people in far-off areas can avail health benefits.
- All-weather roads will connect all villages with an investment of Rs 5,000 crore.For girl students, from class 6 to class 12, a bicycle will be given to go to schools.
- In every district, two girls’ hostels would be set up.Under the program ‘Shakti’, Rs 12,000 crores will be spent over 10 years duration to develop infrastructure and transportation around religious places and temples. “They’ll be connected to the ‘Himteerth’ circuit’,” Nadda said.
- An additional amount of Rs 3,000 annually would be given under PM-Kisan Nidhi Yojana; and 10 lakh farmers would be added to the program.

Focussing on women voters, Nadda released the party’s separate manifesto for them announcing 33 per cent reservation in government jobs. He also announced cycles for girl students in classes 6 to 12. - When asked about rival Congress manifesto released on saturday- Nadda criticised saying it lacks both vision and weight.
