Bihar Woman Who Lost Kidneys At Pvt Hospital Wants Perpetrator’s Organs

Sunita's kidneys were removed illegally at a private hospital in Muzaffarpur around two months back.

Sunita Devi, the 38-year-old woman who is battling for life after the illegal removal of her both kidneys at a private hospital, has demanded that she be given the organs of the doctor who her life miserable.

Around two months back, Sunita had gone for a check for a possible uterus infection at a local hospital in Bariyarpur village in Muzaffarpur district. When she woke up after treatment, she found out that both her kidneys were removed illegally by the doctor.

An FIR was registered but the Bihar Police could not arrest the accused doctor so far.

As per reports, the clinic she visited was an illegal one and the doctor didn’t have required medical qualifications.

Speaking to media persons at Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur, where she now receives dialysis every two hours, said: “I demand that the government arrests the accused and give me his kidneys.”

“We all are poor, so neither the government nor officers listen to us,” she said.

Sunita would lose her life if she is not given dialysis at a gap of every two hours, according to Dr BS Jha, superintendent of SKMCH, Muzaffarpur.

He said: “Doctors at SKMCH referred Sunita to Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna for treatment. She was sent back to this hospital after treatment there. Since Sunita has no kidneys, if she does not have dialysis for even one day, then she could die.”

“Continuous reports are also being taken every two hours and sent to the government. It is expected that as soon as there will be a solution for the kidney, the transplant will be done,” he added.

As Sunita struggles for life, her relatives are making frantic efforts to get government compensation for a kidney transplant in order to enable her to live a normal life again.

Iti Devi, Sunita’s mother said, “The government won’t do anything because they know that we are poor people and cannot create noise about this. All we want from the government is to find a kidney for my daughter.”

“There is no word for compensation to the family,” she lamented.
