Bihar Madrasa teacher booked for raping, impregnating minor

Madarsa teacher who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor girl within a mosque over an extended period

NEW DELHI: A horrifying incident has been reported from Bihar’s Saharsa, involving a Madarsa teacher who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor girl within a mosque over an extended period. The situation remained undisclosed until it was discovered that the victim was pregnant. Following the victim’s complaint on October 9, the accused has been taken into police custody after an FIR was filed against him.

The Maulana had also issued death threats to the 13-year-old minor girl in order to silence her. She lived at her maternal grandmother’s residence as her mother was employed in Delhi. During her stay at her grandmother’s house, the victim would attend the village mosque for her studies.

Speaking with The New India, the victim said, “He took me to a room. He also gave me death threats warning me to not say anything to anyone. It has been going on for long.” The girl demanded justice for herself. She said, “I found out about this pregnancy through an ultrasound. I demand that he be punished strictly.”
After the matter came to light, on October 7, the father of the accused, along with a group of people, approached the victim’s mother. During this meeting, he made a promise to provide Rs 10,000 as a bribe to suppress the matter and offered assistance in arranging the girl’s marriage.

Subsequently, the victim’s family went to the police station and filed a complaint against the accused. Following the registration of the case, the cops took action promptly and apprehended the accused Maulana.

The girl’s mother hopelessly said, “Nobody is supporting my daughter. We are poor, what can we do?”
