National Herald Case: ED Asks Sonia Gandhi To Appear On June 23

NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi to appear before it on June 23 in connection with the National Herald money laundering case, officials said on Friday.

Confirming the development an ED official told The New Indian, “She has been asked to appear before the agency on June 23.” He said that on June 8 she had skipped the ED summons as she was yet to recover from the COVID.

Sonia Gandhi had tested positive for COVID on June 2.

Besides Sonia Gandhi, the financial probe agency has also asked the former Congress chief and her son Rahul Gandhi to appear before it on June 13.

The Congress has planned a show of strength on June 13 as all party MPs and the CWC members will be marching to the ED office along with Rahul Gandhi. The Congress has also planned Satyagrah on June 13 at all the state offices of the ED.
