Mumbai: Actor Arjun Kapoor on Wednesday underscored the power and potential of India’s young population, saying that interacting with emerging leaders across sectors gives him a deeper appreciation of the country’s future.

Kapoor was speaking to Nihal Kumar, Correspondent, The New Indian, after a youth-focused session at the FICCI Young Leaders Summit 2025 in Mumbai.

Kapoor said he felt “very, very happy” to be part of an event dedicated to next-generation leadership.
Our country is one of the youngest in the world, and being able to interact and engage with young people who are going to shape the future always makes you happy,” he said. “You realise the potential of the country.”

Reflecting on the value of cross-sector dialogue, Kapoor said meeting young professionals from fields beyond cinema was both enriching and inspiring.
From the profession I come from, to be able to meet people from other walks of life who are young, who are starting out—to engage in conversation, inspire them, learn from them—is always amazing,” he said. He added that spending quality time with young achievers “always” leaves him energised.

First Mumbai Edition of FICCI Summit Excites Kapoor

Speaking about the event’s expansion, Kapoor noted that the Young Leaders Summit had been traditionally held in Delhi but was making its first appearance in Mumbai this year.
It happens in Delhi; this is the first time it’s happening here in Mumbai, so I’m excited about it,” he told The New Indian. “I would like more people to come the next time it happens. I would like to be back—Delhi or Mumbai or wherever it is across the country.”

Kapoor said the venue did not matter as long as FICCI continued creating spaces where young leaders could “interact and jam and build and cultivate a better future for our country.”

His comments added a vibrant cultural dimension to a summit that brought together policymakers, entrepreneurs, business leaders and influencers, all focused on strengthening India’s journey towards a youth-driven future.
