NEW DELHI: The RR Kabel Prime Volleyball League, powered by Scapia has announced the launch of a Kannada-language feed for its YouTube livestreaming, expanding its regional coverage as the fourth edition of the tournament continues at Hyderabad’s Gachibowli Indoor Stadium.

The new feed will go live from Saturday, October 11, marking the sixth language addition to the league’s digital broadcast.

The PVL’s official YouTube channel, which already offers feeds in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, witnessed a strong start to the season with significant viewership across regional languages.

The inclusion of Kannada aims to connect more deeply with volleyball fans in Karnataka — home to the Bengaluru Torpedoes franchise — and further broaden the league’s reach.

Speaking on the initiative, Yashwanth Biyyala, Co-owner and Director of Bengaluru Torpedoes, said,
“The support we receive from Karnataka is immense, and providing the livestream in our local language is a sincere effort to engage more deeply with our loyal fans. This step will bring the excitement of the Prime Volleyball League right into the homes of our most passionate supporters.”

Echoing the sentiment, Joy Bhattacharjya, CEO of Prime Volleyball League, highlighted the league’s digital expansion strategy:
“Expanding our digital footprint with the Kannada feed on YouTube is a crucial step in the league’s strategic growth. Our large viewership on the opening day clearly demonstrates the massive, multilingual appetite for volleyball across India. Adding a sixth regional option — alongside English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam — is about more than just numbers; it’s about nation-building for the sport. By delivering tailored, accessible content, we are not only supporting the passionate fanbase in Karnataka and the Bengaluru Torpedoes but also creating a model for deep, inclusive fan engagement that ensures the PVL truly becomes a household name everywhere.”

The 2025 season is being broadcast live on Sony Sports Network in the Indian subcontinent and streamed globally on the league’s official YouTube channel. Alongside live matches, the digital channel features match highlights, recaps, behind-the-scenes footage, and other fan-centric content designed to enhance viewer engagement.

On Saturday, October 11, four teams will take the court — Kochi Blue Spikers face Bengaluru Torpedoes in the opening fixture, followed by Chennai Blitz taking on Kolkata Thunderbolts in the second encounter of the day.

With the addition of Kannada commentary, the Prime Volleyball League continues its mission to bring the excitement of Indian volleyball closer to fans across linguistic and regional boundaries.
