NEW DELHI: The newly formed Goa Guardians have unveiled their 13-member squad for the upcoming Prime Volleyball League (PVL) 2025, with Chirag Yadav named as team captain. The Guardians are all set to make their debut appearance in the league, which kicked off on October 2 in Hyderabad.

The team, coached by TC Jothish, brings together a dynamic blend of seasoned domestic players and international stalwarts, including two foreign recruits from the United States. Speaking about the team’s readiness, Coach Jothish said,

“The team is preparing exceptionally well for the tournament. Our focus is on building a cohesive unit by having them train and play together. To achieve this, we extensively practice various formations in anticipation of the upcoming games.”

The squad’s training sessions over the past month were held at Don Bosco Oratory, Panaji, where players worked rigorously to fine-tune their game. Reflecting on the camp, Aravindhan S, the team’s setter, said,

“The training sessions in Goa were excellent, and the team has been performing really well. Goa Guardians is a new franchise, and it’s great that more players now get the opportunity to participate in the league. The atmosphere has been very positive.”

Echoing the excitement, Prince Malik, one of the team’s key attackers, added,

“This marks the Goa Guardians’ inaugural season in the Prime Volleyball League. It’s been a fantastic experience so far; everyone is incredibly welcoming. While beach volleyball is more common in Goa, the turnout of supporters at our practices has been truly heartwarming.”
