NEW DELHI: Border Security Force (BSF) troops apprehended a Pakistani national after he crossed the International Border (IB) and advanced aggressively towards the border fence in Suchetgarh sector of Jammu district on Sunday night.
According to official sources, the incident occurred on September 7, 2025, at around 9:10 PM, when BSF personnel deployed in Tehsil Suchetgarh noticed suspicious movement across the IB. Despite repeated warnings by the alert troops, the intruder continued to move towards the fence in a threatening manner.
Perceiving a potential threat, BSF personnel opened fire and subsequently apprehended the individual. He was taken into custody and later identified as Siraaj Khan, son of Zahid Khan, a resident of Village 27 Chak, Tehsil Bhalwal, District Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan.
During the search, BSF recovered Pakistani currency from his possession. Following initial questioning, the apprehended individual was handed over to the local police for further investigation.
BSF officials confirmed that a formal protest is being lodged with Pakistan Rangers over the cross-border intrusion.
The incident underscores continuing challenges along the sensitive Jammu border, where vigilant monitoring by BSF has been critical in preventing unauthorized movements and potential security threats.
