NEW DELHI: S8UL Esports has been crowned champions of the inaugural Legends Ascend South Asia 2025, securing their place at the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) Wild Card Playoffs, scheduled from August 28–31. The win gives them a shot at LCP 2026 promotion, a major milestone for South Asian League of Legends.

 

A Platform for South Asian Talent

 

Launched in April 2025 by Riot Games in association with Aftermath Ventures, Legends Ascend South Asia was created to provide a structured competitive ecosystem for the region. The tournament featured a prize pool of INR 10,00,000 and drew 95 teams from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, and Bhutan.

Tournament Format and Journey

 

The competition began with three open qualifiers (April–May), filtering down to nine standout squads:

  • PnX ASCENSION
  • Revenants
  • SUVO HATERS
  • Jetfire’s Dojo
  • Syndicate
  • Poro Patrol
  • Report Precog Gaming

These teams battled through the Round Robin League Stage (June–July), where S8UL Esports, Kakao Gaming, Revenants, and Syndicate advanced to the Double Elimination Playoffs.

S8UL’s Road to Glory

 

Across July and August, the playoffs delivered high-stakes best-of-three and best-of-five matches. S8UL Esports showcased consistency, adaptability, and fearless drafting, ultimately clinching the championship.

Viewership and Community Engagement

 

The tournament’s impact stretched beyond the main stage. Over 29 broadcast days, Legends Ascend South Asia recorded 1.3 lakh YouTube views and reached 7 lakh fans through FragNation, Aftermath Ventures’ official channel.

 

Grassroots participation was equally impressive, with 12 community watch parties across the region adding 1.25 lakh additional views, underscoring the growing enthusiasm for League of Legends in South Asia.
