NEW DELHI: In a world overwhelmed with noise, opinions, and distractions, Pocket FM – the world’s largest audio series platform – is lighting the way with meaningful stories that inspire the nation. The latest chapter of its acclaimed campaign, ‘India, Kuch Acha Suno’, highlights the extraordinary journey of the Indian Women’s Ice Hockey Team through a powerful brand film titled ‘Sound of Courage’.

This film celebrates the team’s landmark achievement of winning a historic bronze medal at the IIHF Asia Cup, a momentous milestone in Indian women’s ice hockey. More than just a sporting success, the story embodies grit, resilience, and breaking barriers in a sport traditionally seen as a “man’s game.”

From Frozen Lakes in Ladakh to International Glory

The film captures the harsh reality faced by these women, training under extreme cold in Ladakh’s stark, stunning landscapes. Despite battling societal resistance, family concerns, and ridicule for choosing ice hockey, they never gave up on their dream. Often, they had to train wearing borrowed men’s gear and face freezing temperatures, yet their passion and perseverance propelled them forward.

Tsewang Chuskit, the captain of the Indian Women’s Ice Hockey Team, said,

“Victory is born out of persistence. Our journey was filled with doubt back home, but it was our association that believed in us and stood by us. Still, we chose to listen to our inner voice. ‘Sound of Courage’ reflects our truth—it’s a reminder that trusting yourself can change everything.”

A Statement Beyond the Medal

Winning the bronze was not just about a medal; it was a declaration that passion and resilience can overcome any obstacle. Harjinder Singh ‘Jindi’, General Secretary of the Ice Hockey Association of India and Member of the IIHF Asia Committee, remarked,

“We didn’t just win a medal — we made a statement. Against all odds, we carved our own path, broke barriers, and proved that passion knows no boundaries. This Bronze at the IIHF Asia Cup isn’t just about the game — it’s about resilience, belief, and a dream that refused to die.”

He further acknowledged the entire Ice Hockey family—the players, parents, coaches, and support staff—who stood firm when few did, turning challenges into stepping stones.
“We are more than a team — we are a movement.”

Amplifying Voices of Courage and Defiance

Vineet Singh, SVP & Head of Brand Marketing, Communications and Partnerships at Pocket FM, explained the vision behind ‘Sound of Courage’:

“In a world filled with noise and negativity, we want to shine a light on stories that inspire and uplift. ‘Sound of Courage’ is more than a film—it’s a tribute to every individual who’s ever dared to defy the odds and to the unheard stories that deserve to reach far and wide.”

Adding a layer of cultural depth, the film features the voice of Padma Shri recipient Morup Namgyal, whose narration ties the story beyond sports. The film is a tribute to every Indian woman who has chosen her own path — mothers, daughters, and sisters who have broken barriers with silent strength. It resonates deeply in a country where listening to one’s heart is itself an act of defiance and courage.
