Early Life and Political Beginnings

Born on July 24, 1946, in Hisawada, Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, Malik’s political journey began in student politics. He served as president of the Meerut College Students’ Union in 1966–67 and later of the Meerut University Students’ Union in 1968–69. He earned degrees in Science and Law from Meerut University before entering mainstream politics.

Political Career and Key Roles

Malik’s political career spanned over five decades, during which he was associated with several parties, including the Bharatiya Kranti Dal, Congress, Janata Dal, Samajwadi Party, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
