The Interview was held in Santacruz, Mumbai. The New Indian Team was invited by the Aamir Khan Production House for the conversation in reference to the movie, ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ that was released on 20th June, 2025, starring the Bollywood Icon, Aamir Khan.
Aamir Khan is known for his intense commitment to roles, thoughtful lifestyle choices, and an ever-evolving personal philosophy. This wasn’t the first time Aamir made drastic dietary changes. For Ghajini, he famously followed an intense protein-heavy diet and workout regime to build an 8-pack physique.
For Dangal, the transformation was even more challenging — first gaining around 25 kilos to look like an ageing father, then shedding it rapidly to play a younger version of the character.
“I like veg a lot. I prefer veg,” Aamir said, highlighting his general inclination toward vegetarian food. However, he shared that there was a phase in his life when he decided to go fully vegan. “For about six months, I was totally vegan,” he recalled. The change happened around the time he was working on Dangal, though he wasn’t certain about the exact timeline.
“But I love curd. And when you are vegan, you can’t have milk or curd,” he explained.
Eventually, it was this love for curd that made him end his vegan journey. “I could not resist. I broke. Curd is important for me,” he admitted.
When asked about his stance on meat consumption, Aamir said, “I take non-veg. But I prefer veg.” His approach is not rigid, and he makes room for flexibility and comfort in his food choices.
While many celebrities stick to rigid trends or public image-friendly choices, Aamir’s diet journey reflects thoughtfulness and balance. His decision to return to dairy wasn’t about breaking discipline, it was about reconnecting with comfort.
