New Delhi: India urged the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism during the NSA-level meeting held in Beijing today. The Indian delegation, led by the National Security Advisor, highlighted the country’s historical ties with SCO nations while stressing the need for collective action against extremist threats.
The NSA condemned the April 22 Pahalgam attack, carried out by TRF, a LeT proxy, which targeted civilians based on religion. India’s *Operation Sindoor* was described as a non-escalatory but firm response to neutralize terror threats. The NSA called for dismantling terror ecosystems and holding sponsors of cross-border terrorism accountable.
India proposed a joint action plan to counter groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS, alongside measures to curb radicalization and extremism. The NSA also advocated for a coordinated information campaign to counter extremist propaganda. The proposals aim to strengthen regional security cooperation within the SCO framework. India’s stance reflects its commitment to a unified approach in combating terrorism while promoting stability in the region.
