Panaji: In a significant move to strengthen cybersecurity and digital vigilance, Goa Police launched two artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools—”Spot the Scam” and “Radical Content Analyser”—developed in collaboration with BITS Pilani, Goa Campus. The launch event was attended by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, senior police officials, and faculty members from BITS Pilani.

The “Spot the Scam” tool is designed to detect fraudulent websites and mobile applications by analyzing security parameters such as SSL certificates, domain credibility, and app permissions. It provides a risk assessment score, helping users identify potential scams. The tool is now accessible to the public via [https://spotthescam.in](https://spotthescam.in) and has been integrated into Goa Police and Goa Tourism websites.

Meanwhile, the “Radical Content Analyser” uses AI to detect hate speech and extremist content in videos and documents across Hindi, English, and Urdu. It evaluates speech patterns, emotional tone, religious rhetoric, and possible incitement, categorizing content as high (red), moderate (yellow), or low (green) risk. Currently, this tool is being used by Goa Police’s Social Media Monitoring Cell.

Chief Minister Sawant praised the initiative, stating that these tools align with the vision of a technologically advanced police force under the “Viksit Bharat” mission. He also highlighted other recent digital policing efforts, including the Quick Pass traffic app, Deep Trace for digital forensics, and a QR-based feedback system in police stations.

The project originated from the Goa Police Hackathon 2024 and has received appreciation from the Union Home Ministry for its potential nationwide application. Upcoming initiatives include a cloud-based cybercrime call center linked to Helpline 1930 and a mobile app for tenant verification.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by ASP Akshat Ayush, IPS. With these advancements, Goa Police aims to enhance public safety and stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.
