NEW DELHI: The UP Warriorz Rani Pink Women’s Day jerseys will make history in the WPL.

For the first time, UP Warriorz will swap their yellow and purple jerseys for Rani Pink. This bold move supports girls’ education in Uttar Pradesh.

 

The team has partnered with Educate Girls. They aim to empower young girls through education. The players will wear the special jersey on March 8 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Ekana Stadium.

 

Each player will also wear an armband with the message “Her Education, Our Promise”. This highlights their commitment to the cause.

Symbol of Strength and Courage

 

The pink jersey represents strength, courage, and resilience. It is inspired by Rani Lakshmi Bai, a warrior queen.

 

Rani Pink is a symbol of power and royalty. It is part of the UP Warriorz logo, where Rani Lakshmi Bai stands tall in pink.

 

Through their partnership, UP Warriorz have supported 4,000 women. Educate Girls aims to reach 10 million learners by 2035.

 

The team hosted 635 young girls from the Educate Girls program at a WPL match. Volunteers from Team Balika also attended, celebrating their efforts in education.

 

Educate Girls, founded in 2007, has enrolled 1.8 million out-of-school girls. Their programs have impacted 29,000 villages across four states.

During their Lucknow visit, UP Warriorz players unveiled two murals. These celebrate cricket and women breaking barriers.

 

They also launched “Papa ki Warriorz”. This campaign honors fathers who support their daughters’ dreams.

 

Safeena Husain, founder of Educate Girls, praised the initiative. She thanked UP Warriorz for dedicating a match to the cause.

 

Jinisha Sharma, Director of Capri Sports, emphasized education’s power. She said the Rani Pink jersey is a bold statement for young girls in Uttar Pradesh.
