NEW DELHI: Angad Bir Singh made a stunning debut for India in FIH Pro League 2025. The young forward impressed fans with his confidence and skill.
His journey to the senior team was marked by hard work. He had already won Gold at the 2022 Sultan of Johor Cup and the 2023 Junior Asia Cup.
His selection came after a brilliant performance in the Hero Hockey India League. His ‘double jalebi’ goal against David Harte made headlines.

The big moment arrived in Bhubaneswar. India faced Ireland, and Angad Bir Singh was set to make his debut.
“I was thrilled before the match. It felt like a dream coming true,” he said. Chief Coach Craig Fulton announced his name, making the moment even more special.
Angad started with some nerves but settled quickly. “For the first minute, I was cautious. Then I reminded myself to play my natural game,” he shared.
Senior players like Manpreet Singh and Hardik Singh supported him. “They told me to play without pressure. Their encouragement made all the difference.”
Coach Fulton also played a key role. “He told me to enjoy the moment and not worry about mistakes. That helped me play freely.”
A Star is Born
He noticed a big difference between junior and senior hockey. “Senior hockey is much faster and more tactical. I’m still adapting.”
The debut match taught him many lessons. “Mental preparation is as important as physical fitness. Next time, I’ll be more focused from the start.”
With each game, he is growing stronger. He is keen on building his game and making meaningful connections with his teammates. “Understanding my teammates’ play style is crucial. The more we play together, the better we’ll be as a team.”

His goal is clear. “I want to win Gold at the Olympics. Watching India win Bronze in Tokyo and Paris was inspiring. Now, I want to be part of the team that wins Gold.”
The moment was special for his family. “My father was the happiest. Our entire family watched my debut together. It was a proud moment for all of us.”
Angad Bir Singh is now focused on growing as a player. His journey has just begun, and FIH Pro League 2025 is just the beginning of bigger challenges ahead.
